Malaysia Confirms Ice Hockey Inclusion in the 2027 SEA Games

Malaysia has officially confirmed that ice hockey will be included in the competition program for the 34th SEA Games in 2027.

The Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM), as the host of the 34th SEA Games, chaired a preparation meeting with the Southeast Asian Games Federation (SEAGF). During the meeting, delegates approved the inclusion of five additional sports: Kabaddi, Dancesport, Teqball, Padel, and Ice Hockey. The meeting also approved the addition of two new disciplines under existing sports: Chinlone under Sepak Takraw, and Equestrian Polo under Equestrian.

Ice hockey at the 34th SEA Games in Malaysia will feature both men's and women's team competitions. At the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, the Thai women's national team won the gold medal, while the Thai men's national team claimed the silver medal.
