Dr. Suwanna Appointed Manager of Thailand Women's Ice Hockey Team for the 2027 SEA Games

Following the earlier appointment by the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand, led by President M.L. Kridsada Kasemsanta, of Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa as Team Manager of Thailand's men's national ice hockey program—including the U18, U20, and senior national teams—for the IIHF World Championship and the 34th SEA Games in Malaysia in 2027,

the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand has now officially announced, through an order signed by President M.L. Kridsada Kasemsanta, the appointment of Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa as Team Manager of the Thailand Women's National Ice Hockey Team for the 34th SEA Games in Malaysia.

The official announcement states that, in order to ensure the efficient management, athlete preparation, and participation of both the men's and women's Thailand national ice hockey teams at the 34th SEA Games, scheduled to be held from 18–29 September 2027 in Malaysia, and in accordance with the regulations of the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand, Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa has been additionally appointed as Team Manager of the Thailand Women's National Ice Hockey Team, with the following duties and responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and supervise the training programs and training camps of the Thailand Women's National Ice Hockey Team in accordance with the Association's development plan.
  2. Facilitate and coordinate both domestic and international arrangements for the participation of the women's team athletes and officials at the 34th SEA Games as representatives of Thailand.
  3. Supervise the welfare, well-being, and discipline of the women's team athletes and officials throughout the training camp and competition period.
  4. Submit regular reports to the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand regarding progress, challenges, and recommendations, as well as a final report upon the completion of the competition.

The Thailand Women's National Ice Hockey Team made history by competing in the SEA Games for the first time in 2025, when Thailand hosted the event, and successfully captured the inaugural gold medal. With Malaysia officially confirming the inclusion of ice hockey in the 2027 SEA Games, the Thai women's team will now have the opportunity to defend its SEA Games title for a second consecutive edition.

Dr. Suwanna Silpa-archa also shared a message following her appointment: "I would like to thank the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand for entrusting me once again with the responsibility of taking care of our Thailand Women's National Ice Hockey Team for the SEA Games. I will continue to give my very best in every role entrusted to me."
