The Global Girls’ Game 2025–2026 is a worldwide initiative organized by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to promote and celebrate female ice hockey players around the globe. In 2026, the main global activities took place during 6–8 March 2026, bringing together communities in many countries to highlight the growth of women’s ice hockey.
In Thailand, the Ice Hockey Association of Thailand (IHAT) organized its local celebration on 12 March 2026 at Sub-Zero Co-operative Sukhumvit–Ekkamai. The event gathered young players and experienced athletes to participate in a series of fun and inclusive on-ice activities designed to encourage participation and build connections within the women’s hockey community.
วัตถุประสงค์ (Objectives)
- Inclusivity: To create opportunities for women of all ages and skill levels to participate in ice hockey and showcase their abilities in a welcoming environment.
- Inspiration: To motivate young players by highlighting successful female role models, including members of Thailand’s national team who achieved success at the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.
- Growth: To increase the number of female ice hockey players in Thailand and support the long-term sustainability of women’s leagues in the future.
Instead of focusing on competition, this year’s program emphasized community building and fun activities, including:
- Mentor Sessions: Thai national team players and experienced senior athletes worked closely with beginners, teaching fundamental skills and providing guidance to help younger players gain confidence and inspirat
- Ice-Breaking Activities: Recreational activities on the ice helped participants relax, interact, and enjoy the experience, reinforcing the idea that the ice rink is a welcoming and joyful place for everyone.
- Stick Tap / Random Team Selection: Players were randomly grouped into teams, allowing participants from different backgrounds to meet new friends, build connections, and strengthen the sense of community within Thai women’s ice hockey.
